-Fine. 그러세요.
-Uh, that book's really not great. 그 책은 그렇게 대단치 않아요.(별로에요)

혹시나해서 말하는데, 돌아보다 사게되면
돈 낭비하게 될 거 에요.
*browse = look around : (이것저것) 둘러보다.
*turn to : ~한 상태가 되다. 변하다.
여기서는 browsing이 buying으로 바뀌게 되면... 이라는 의미.

-But if it's Turkey you're interested in, um, this one, on the other hand, is very good.
그렇지만 터키에 관심이 있다면 이책이 정말 좋아요.
*be interested in : ~에 관심이 있다.

-Um, I think the man who wrote it has actually been to Turkey, which helps.
난 이책을 쓴 사람이 실제로 터키에 가봤다고 생각해요. 그게 책 쓰는데 도움이 되죠.
-Um, There's also a very amusing incident with a kebab.
um, which is one of many amusing incidents.
그리고 아주 재미있는 케밥 이야기도 있어요. 다른 흥미로운 일화도 아주 많구요.
*amusing : 즐거운, 재미있는 -> amuse(V.즐겁게 하다) 동사에서 왔어요.
amusement park: 놀이동산 이라는 표현도 자주 쓰이죠.
*incident : 일화, 일/사건의 의미로 특히 특이할때 주로 사용

그러니까.. 나는 당신이 그 책을 바지속으로 넣는걸 봤어요.
*put s/th down : 손에 들고 있던 것을 내려놓다./ 글이나 메모를 적다.
ex)Put that knife down before you hurt somebody!
ex)The meeting is on the 22nd. Put it down in your diary.
-What book? 무슨 책이요?
-The one down your trousers. 당신 바지 안에 있는거요.
-I don't have a book down my trousers. 내 바지속에 책 없는데요.
-Right. I tell you what. Um, I'll call the police, what can I say,
if I'm wrong about the whole "book down the trousers" scenario, I really apologize.
그럼 이렇게 합시다.
경찰을 부를 테니, 뭐랄까, 책을 숨겼다는 게 전부 틀렸다면 내가 사과하죠.
*I tell you what : 있잖아..., 그럼 이렇게 합시다.(제안할때 사용)
ex) I'll tell you what - let's stay in instead.
있잖아, 그러지 말고 그냥 집에 있자.
-Okay. What if...I did have a book down my trousers?
좋아요. 근데 만약에 바지안에 책이 있다면요?
*What if : ~라면 어떻게 될까?/ ..면 어쩌지.
ex)What if the train is late? (기차가 연착하면 어쩌지?)
-Well, ideally, when I went back to the desk,
you'd remove [the Cadogan Guide to Bali] from your trousers...
and either wipe it and put it back or buy it.
가장좋은 방법은 내가 계산대로 돌아가면 'Cadogan Guide to Bali'를 꺼내서
닦아서 다시 꽂아두던지 구매하세요. 조금 있다 볼께요.

I was gonna steal one, but now I've changed my mind.
한 권 슬쩍 하려고 했는데, 방금 생각을 바꿨네요.

-Oh, signed by the author, I see. 오, 사인도 있네요.
-Um, yeah, couldn't stop him. 네 말릴 수가 없었어요.
If you can find an unsigned one, it's worth an absolute fortune.
당신이 사인 안된 책을 찾을 수 있다면, 엄청난 재산가치가 있어요.
(전부다 사인이 되어 있다는 의미로 해석)

* autograph : (유명인사등의) 사인
cf.) signature: 서명서류 등에 하는 것을 일컬음. 유명인사의 사인 받을 때는 autograph이라고 힙니다.
auto에 자동이란 의미 외에도 self의 의미가 있어,
위인전의 경우에도 남이 써주면 biography이고 스스로 쓴 자서전은 앞에 auto를 붙여 autobiography라고 합니다.
- Uh, sure./ Uh, Here./ What's your name? 성함이?
- Rufus. 루퍼스요. / What does it say? 뭐라고 쓴 거에요?
- That's my signature.
And above it, it says, "Dear Rufus, you belong in jail."
그건 내 사인이고, 그 위에 루퍼스, 당신한텐 감옥이 딱이야.
*belong in : ~에 살다./ ...에 알맞다.
-Good one. 좋네요.
-Do you want my phone number? 내 전화번호 알려줄까요?
-Tempting. But... no. Thank you. 솔깃하지만, 됐어요.
*tempting: (귀가)솔깃한, tempt v.유혹하다, 부추기다, 유도하다뜻의 동사에서 왔어요.
-I will take this one. 이걸로 할께요.
-Oh, right, right. So, uh--
-Well, on second thoughts, um, maybe it's not that bad after all.
다시 생각해보니, 어쨌든 이 책이 그렇게 별로인건 아닌것 같아요.
*after all (예상과는 달리) 결국에는 ,어쨌든(설명이나 이유를 덧붙일 때)
ex)He should have paid. He suggested it, after all.
(그가 돈을 냈어야지. 어쨌든 그가 제안을 한 거니까.)
-Actually it's a sort of classic really.
사실 이책은 일종의 스테디셀러에요.
->여기서 classic은 유행을 안 타는, 꾸준히 사랑받는 으로 해석.
-None of those childish kebab stories
you find in so many books these days.
요즘 어디에나 등장하는 유치한 케밥이야기는 찾아볼 수 없죠.

*throw in : (봉지)안으로 던지다 -> 거저주다/ 덤으로 주다. 표현안에 free가 포함됨.
