1.resurrected - given new life
*resurrect : (사상. 관례등을) 부활 시키다/ (죽은사람을) 부활시키다.

2.second-hand - not new /used before (중고의)

second-hand cars : 중고차

3.refurbished -made to look new again
*refurbish : (방. 건물등을) 새로 꾸미다.

4.breathing new life into (something) -making (something) work again

5.schemes - organised plans or projects
*스킴 : (운영)계획, 제도

6.disinfected - If you disinfect something, you clean it using a substance that kills germs (=sterilize)

*disinfect : 소독[살균]하다

Laura Bird, NHS worker : 
I probably cycle to work if it's nice weather and I've got enough time and it's good for mental health for people. It means that I can get out and relax a little bit more.
I think it's such a lovely thing they're doing - it's such an amazing thing.

날씨가 좋고, 충분한 시간이 된다면 자전거로 출근할거에요. 물론 정신건강에도 도움이 되죠.

자전거를 타면 밖으로 나가 좀 더 휴식할 수 있잖아요.

전 중고자전거를 새것으로 바꾸는 일이 정말 멋진 일이라고 생각해요.

This charity was launched last year, with the ambition of increasing cycling in Shropshire.

이 자선단체는 Shropshire(슈럼셔)에 증가하는 자전거이용 증가의 야심을 갖고 작년에 세워졌습니다.

 

Since lockdown began they've been flooded with second-hand bikes - they've refurbished and given away 33.

봉쇄령이 내려지고 난 뒤 중고자전거가 넘쳐났어요. (중고 자전거가 정말 많아졌어요.)

그 자전거들을 새롭게 단장하고 33개를 무료로 나눠 주었습니다.

Some of these NHS workers are finding it difficult to actually get to work, with trouble with public transport, so we're helping them. This fits us, it fits the NHS requirements and it helps combat this crisis.

NHS에서 일하는 사람들이 대중교통을 이용해서 출근하는 일은 사실 어려운 일이지요.

그래서 우리는 그들을 돕고 있습니다.

Mick helps run a cycle club in Birmingham.

In his back garden in his spare time he too has been breathing new life into old rides,

helping those on the front line.

그는 뒷뜰에서 시간이 날때마다 최전선에서 그들을 도우면서 중고자전거를 새 자전거로 탈바꿈 시키고 있어요.

Mick Stanford, Cannon Hill Cycle Club:
There was a couple last week, both worked - husband and wife

- that worked at Solihull Hospital and it was just amazing to be able to give them a bike each,
to take them up there and to see them riding off on it and then them now being able to cycle to work [instead of] getting the bus. It's a great feeling, it really is a great feeling.

 

2주전에  Solihull(솔리헐) 병원에서 일하는 부부에게 자전거를 각각 한 대씩 선물할 수 있어서 정말 좋았어요.

그 자전거로 버스대신 출퇴근하는 모습을 보니 너무 좋더군요. 정말 뿌듯했어요.

 

In lockdown in places, more of us seem to be swapping four wheels for two.

봉쇄령이 내려진 지역에 더 많은 사람들이 바퀴 4개짜리 대신 2개짜리를 이용하는 게 많아졌어요.

(자동차 대신 자전거를 이용하는 게 많아진 것 같아요.)

 

The campaign group funding this project and nine others in Birmingham and the Black Country is urging us to keep on peddling once lockdown is lifted.

자전거 프로젝트와 블랙컨트리 지역과 버밍엄의 9개 다른 곳을 후원하고 있는 이 캠페인 그룹은 봉쇄령이 풀리면 우리가 이 일을 계속하기를 촉구하고 있습니다.

Volunteers say these schemes will carry on for as long as they're needed.

자원봉사자들은 그들이 필요로 하는 한 이 계획은 계속 될 것 이라고 말합니다.
